Bio-Activate
NATURAL PLANT GROWTH FACTOR

BIO-ACTIVATE is a natural plant growth factor derived from microbial cultures. It contains a mixture of cytokinins, amino acids and enzymes.  Cytokinins are known to stimulate plant growth.  Cytokinins together with auxins will stimulate seed germination and plant growth when properly applied. That stimulating effects of cytokinins include:
  1. release apical dominance,
  2. break bud, seed and embryo dormancy,
  3. increase root formation,
  4. promote plant growth,
  5. increase crop yield.

Cytokinins are well known to have synergistic effects with auxins.  At very low concentration, cytokinins may increase the number of shoots of cereal species and promote the growth of stems.  They may interact with auxin and gibberellic acid in regulating cell division and cell enlargement in the plants.  They may increase root growth.  The increase in root growth is necessary for water and nutrient uptakes which will then result in better plant growth and increased yield.

On cereal crops, when applied at 4-6 leaf stages cytokinins can increase the number of tillers.  It can also improve head development and hence results in better yield.

Cytokinins have been found to break dormancy of potato buds.  Application of cytokinins to seed pieces have shown to promote early potato and root growth.  Research results on foliar application have shown significant tuber yield increases and tubers of a more uniform size.  The increase in tuber yield and uniformity in tuber size may be a result of cytokinins affect the distribution of metabolites.

Cytokinins affect flowering of grapes. It increases the number of berries set.  In some cultivars, it increases the number and weight of berry set.  The application of cytokinins 2 to 3 weeks before bloom may enhance the proportion of perfect flowers and hence increases the number of berry set.

Reduced fruit drops was observed on fruit trees receiving foliar application of cytokinins.  Cytokinins may also affect fruit set and fruit development.  Application of cytokinins together with gibberellins has shown to increase fruit sizes.  Amino acid cysteine and its derivatives, thioproline, are activators for plant metabolism which leads to increased plant growth and yield.  Thioproline when entered into plants will affect proline metabolism.  It will also form Forrnilcysteine and cysteine which can release the thio (-SH) groups to be used as activators for plant metabolism.

BIO-ACTIVATE stimulates the plants to better utilize their natural reserves and to grow at their full strength.  It enhances the ability of plants to utilize nutrients more effectively.  The result of the application of BIO-ACTIVATE is healthier plants which in turn increases yields.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Soil Application
BIO-ACTIVATE can be applied directly to the seeds or as banding at planting to stimulate germination and root growth.  It should be diluted with at least 50 times of water or fertilizer solution.

Foliar Application

BIO-ACTIVATE can be applied with conventional ground equipment or airplane.  It should be applied with enough water (at least 50 times) to thoroughly cover the plants.  Allow at least 24 hours for the plants to reach maximum absorption.  It is recommended to apply BIO-ACTIVATE early in the morning or late in the afternoon.  Avoid the application of BIO-ACTIVATE when the temperature exceeds 100°F (38°C).  For best results, BIO-ACTIVATE should be applied with a balanced fertilizer program.  BIO-ACTIVATE is not a substitution for fertilizer to supply plant nutrients.  Balanced nutrients and normal growing conditions are required for maximum results of BIO-ACTIVATE.

RATE OF APPLICATION:

The recommended rate of application is 12-16 oz. per acre in 10-30 gallons of water.

TIME OF APPLICATION:
